Sea Caves at or near Rumness, north-east of Auchmichie, north-east of Arbroath.

Two caves marked on OS maps southwest of Rumness Point.

One cave marked about half way along the bay to the north.

More small caves mentioned at Craig of Gives.

The beach curves below a small cave set into the cliff before rounding the next headland to Craig of Gives, a mighty buttress of sandstone with an arch and more wee caves dotted around its base. [Courier]

The coordinates given appears to indicate a location just northwest of the point at Rumness but refer to three caves close to the point. There is no known cave at the given coordinates.

The coast north of Rumness Point as far as Lunan Bay is part of the Whiting Ness - Ethie Haven SSSI. The coast to the southwest is not. The SSSI continues to the southeast beyond Auchmithie.
