A raised beach cave whose entrance is hidden behind a talus pile. After a slightly stooping entrance, 3m wide and 1.9m high, the floor is level and mostly sandy, and dry. There is a large rock jutting out from the NE wall about 15m in which makes a bit of a table. There is a 4.3m subtunnel to its right. Width before the rock is 4.5m and height 3.3m. After the rock it narrows a bit for 5m, at which point it is 1m wide and 1.5 m high. The tunnel narrows down to a pointed end a further 4.6m in.
On 6 Nov 20 there were steps with wooden risers held by wooden pegs and also a knotted rope to help to get up the talus slope to the entrance. Inside, on the floor near the table rock, were a dozen or so candle night lights.
Alternate Names: None recorded.
Notes: Access: via Mill of Muchalls down to Muchalls Shore and follow left past a beach hut. Probably best to park beside a field gate, before going under the railway viaduct, after which there are a number of houses, and chickens, ducks and several peacocks wandering.
