Sròn an t-Seileir Natural Arch [NW]

Sròn an t-Seileir, Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Ross & Cromarty.

NW entrance to sea cave, tunnel / natural arch along a fissure, fault or other weakness in the rock through the end of a tongue of rock north of the main promontory of Sròn an t-Seileir. The fissure can be seen to extend to the surface of the rock 30 m above sea level with land to the west rising to about 150 m above sea level. The rock above the natural arch drops to the sea at a 45 degree angle. The NW entrance faces inland while the SE entrance faces the sea (over the extreme tip of the main promontory).

Sròn an t-Seileir - A small low Sharp promontory (point of sea shore) with little or no cliff over it. From this point to the Butt [of Lewis] this coastline inclines to the northwest. Situated adjacent to and north of Uamha na Seann Daoine. [Scotland's Places]
