Mine (ironstone & coal), late 19th Century?
Marked on geol. survey map. Not shown on OS maps, although site is beside (now-demolished) brickworks and mineral railway which are absent from the 1856 1st ed.
Site buried in residential ground along South St, Armadale.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Geol. map notes Armadale Main Coal at 42 fms [77m] & Armadale Slatyband Ironstone at 51 fms [93m]
Site probably buried below the front garden / drive of No. 72 South St, as it lies beside the markers on geol & MRA maps and is anomalously set back from the road more than the neighbouring homes. A path to the north of the aforementioned property follows the route of the dismantled mineral railway.
