Supposedly the site of the main shaft of the later 18th/19thcentury lead/silver mine at Hilderston. Now infilled and marked only by a small spoil heap in the middle of a field.

Depth was presumably 13 fathoms and would have connected to the adits on the west side of South Quarry Lime Works.
