Mine (Fireclay), 20th Century.
Relatively extensive workings in 'Lower Millstone Grit Fireclay', operated by Glenboig Union Fireclay Co. & abandoned in 1969. The complex extended S as far as ~[NS 9412 5905], and W as far as [9379 5929]. See abandonment plan (in refs) for detailed layout.

Notes: Given 8 fig NGR coordinates are for site of main level adit at easternmost end of mine complex. An additional 'air mine' adit (tunnel for which runs parallel to main entrance tunnel, trending WSW) was located a short distance to the S at ~[NS 9428 5941].
