Culvert Inlet on the line of the Knowle Burn. Possibly lost, possibly incorporated in modern culvert when Glasgow Road was extended to the Church St roundabout.
The old Dumbarton gasworks sat on the west side of the Knowle Burn, north of Castle Street. The gasworks culvert was created when the gasworks site was extended over the burn (at some point between 1860 and 1896), possibly when the Dumbarton & Balloch Joint Line was constructed leading to the Goods Station on the east side of the burn and on into the dockland area. .
