One of three entrances to the Cnoc nan Uamh system. Located up well-worn path past Glenbain Cottage to prominent knoll, Cnoc nan Uamh (Hill of Caves) 10 m directly uphill from Uamh an Uisge.

A sporting route from Uamh an Tartair (Cave of the Roaring) emerges in daylight at a waterfall at the foot of an open pothole. The shaft can be free climbed [a safety line is recommended]. Near the top, 13 m of low crawl can be entered. The base of the pot is occupied by a fast flowing pool which is passed by a traverse on left then a climb down to cross to the right of the stream. After another 3 m the Waterslide is reached.

Or enter from the Waterslide in dry weather and traverse around the pool at the base of the waterfall to reach the very wet upstream passage leading to two 3 m cascades, a climb to Fairbank Crack eventually emerging into Stream Chamber in Uamh an Tartair.

Alternate Names: None recorded.

Notes: For upstream sections see Uamh an Tartair (Cave of the Roaring) and the Cnoc nan Uamh System.

For downstream section see Uamh an Uisge (the Waterslide).
