Mine (Coal), late-19th cent.
Site of buried adit mouth that accessed an extensive area of (probable longwall) workings in the Four Feet Coal of which the Dean Valley No.1 Mine formed the northern part (mine mouths separated by ca. 550 metres). The SE end of this area was also accessed by Mine No.3. See mine plans in refs for detailed layout.
