Mine (Limestone), late 19th Century.
Shaft marked on OS map, associated with Leven Seat Limestone Workings. Pit operated by Peter Mitchell & Son, and shaft site now buried below rough pasture. This shaft is located near the NW limit of the mine complex, and was connected to a southern extension of the mine (S of Levenseat House) by a N-S-trending tunnel.

Notes: Levenseat Lst is the local name for the Castlecary Lst band, which according to geol. survey map was encountered at 20 fms (36.5 m).
