Mine (Limestone), late 19th Century.
Shaft marked on Geological Survey (Castlecary or Levenseat Limestone at 13 Fathoms). Associated with Leven Seat Limestone Workings, with shaft broadly located at a central position to the northern section of the mine complex (also accessed by pits No.1 & 2). Shaft site now buried below rough pasture with minor surface expression.

Absent from 1856 OS map (surveyed 1854-5), but labelled as 'Shaft' on 1895 ed (surveyed 1893).
