Verter Well (Chalybeate) marked on OS map.
Verter Well (Chalybeate) - 3/4 of a mile East North East from Muldron. A very small spring well about which there is a faint tradition that is was formerly of great repute and much resorted to by people in consumption. It however is entirely neglected now [c. 1852] and being a very small object is only known to people ultimately acquainted with Moors. The waters are not unpleasent to drink merely partaking of the taste imparted to the water of most wells in districts abounding with iron. It is therefore a chalybeate well. [ScotlandsPlaces]
