Mine Mouth, from which water level extended S to Handaxwood No.1 Pit (Registry Site #7810, abandoned 1873).
Level marked on Geological Survey map, draining 'wasted' ironstone workings of the Handaxwood mine to the S. Located just N of an old shaft that is marked on OS maps and possibly links to the water level, although this is not labelled on the Handax' abandonment plan (see refs). Mouth probably blocked below rough pasture.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Labelled as "mouth of water level draining Cur. [Curdly Ironstone] workings to south" on geol survey map, and "mine mouth" & "stone mine" on Handaxwood abandonment plan.
