Shaft site buried below garden of Hatfield Drive residence. Pre-dates 1870.

Notes: Ironstone worked in 1872 (both Blackband Ironstone and Garibaldi Claystone Ironstone). Coals of the Gas Coal and Main Coal seams were also worked.
Marked as 'No 1 Pit' on geol. survey map. 1870 Ed. states 1 1/2" coal at 29 fms [53m], & Garscadden Blackband Ironstone 15 1/2 fms.
