Notes: Marked as Ironstone Pit beside Glasgow-Dumbarton Railway on OS 6" map. Absent from 2nd editions which indicates presence of extensive bing immediately south.
Current site within woodland beyond E end of Ruchill Park golf course.
Pre-dates the Lochburn Iron Works formerly located to the N of the pit (on N bank of the Forth & Clyde Canal).
