Mine (Ironstone, & Coal), 1840s.
Pit situated at southern end of extensive area of blackband ironstone workings in conjunction with those from neighbouring Sweethills (or Carnbroe) pits; see abandonment plan in refs. Also a coal pit, as labelled on 1864 OS map. Shaft site now occupied by small area of woodland.
