Mine (Coal, & Ironstone?), 19th & early-20th c.
Shaft sunk to coal, now buried under industrial yard. Probably an early/mid-19th c. coal mine (abandoned pre-1859) established alongside a mineral railway, later reopened as part of the Monkland Colliery that operated until c.1920.
