Mine (Ironstone & Coal), early 20th c?
Shaft sunk to blackband ironstone, now buried under rough grassland of large open parkland area (suggesting extensive workings below, unsuitable for building upon).

No surface features shown on 1898 or 1864 OS maps, but large areas of spoil immediately to the E on the 1956 National Grid ed. Labelled as disused shaft on 1914 OS map.
