Genric reference to caves in a small bay north of the Mill of Melrose.
'We are now at a point on the great headland where there is a very steep way down to the beach leading to the three caves. These caves are of immense size, one of them going right through the headland. One of them has its walls covered with the Asplenium marinum. All three are very interesting, but can only be reached while the tide is back.' [Banffshire Field Club]
Alternative Names: Coves of Mill Cleave
Notes: The coordinates given are arbitrary (off-shore). There is no cave at this location. The caves are at the base of the sea cliff.
