West Cove of Mull Cleave

A fine intertidal cave with near vertical rifts which converge downwards above the ceiling, forming a wedge. Faces NNW. Entrance width is 5.5 m near HW level.

Notes: Access: by sea e.g. east from Tarlair beach, E of Macduff near high tide, or west from Gardenstown.

Measured 6/8/24 by N Feilden, using LDM and depth tape. Length by 3 readings so may be some overlap. Needs a beach landing inside to check for any extensions. Alt is ACD.

1st Ed OS 25 in shows this 'cave' as part of the Mull Cleave promontory, and a bit west of 'Coves of Mull Cleave.' It shows a tunnel outline which scales to a length of 69 m.
