Mine (Coal), late-18th or early-19th cent.
Site of old coal pit on the Urquhart Day Level [site #7349], as labelled on OS town plan of 1856. This shaft has been treated and is now buried below a field on the south margin of what was formerly the Stirling & Dunfermline Railway, S of Whitemyre Court.
According to the Geological Survey map, this shaft was situated on the N side of the Whitemyre Dyke that has a ca. 25 fathom throw.
