East Bow

Bowness, New Slains Castle, Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire.

A rather small arch with its axis about 40 degrees dipped to NNW.

Notes: Access: by land down onto the rocks of Bow Ness at the north end of Slains castle.

by sea north from Port Errol, Cruden Bay

Diagonal width measured at 3.8 m. Vertical ranged scaled from photo 3. Length from Pastmap Aerial. Altitude is a visual estimate and ACD.

Photo 2 if you find the white sea gull against Bow Ness, you can just make out light coming down through this arch, half way between the gull and the left (east) side of the double arch.
