Probable site of culvert under Aitkenhead Road on the line of the Mall's Mire Burn. To the south the burn flowed parallel to either the east or west side of the road, to the north the burn was on the other side of the road running to Clincart Brick and Tile Works [west of the road is most likely]. It seems likely that the burn has been incorporated into the local surface water drainage system (probable on the centre line of the modern road) and that any remains of the original culvert will now be redundant.
