Site of old clay pit and former Clincart Brick and Tile Works (now housing at Curling Crescent) south east of Hampden Rark Stadium.
The squared off shape of the former clay pit (shown on old OS maps) and the name of the more recent housing suggests the flooded pit may have been used as a curling rink.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: The name Clincart comes from the old Clincart Farm (site of Lesser Hampden Stadium, built c. 1850). The farm owned extensive fields an the clay ground of the flood plain of the River Clyde (extending to Mall's Mire). The Brick and Tile Works was used to exploit the large clay deposits opening several clay pits.
