Old tramway tunnel, stone block-lined.

"To assist with the moving of the ore a tramway was built linking the plant with the sorting and crushing area and the hoppers at the Wilson Mine which was the main mine in use at that time. The tramway passed through a cutting near the site of the later to be built railway station. This cutting was frequently blocked with snow causing disruption to the supply of ore. In 1886 it was covered forming a tunnel approximately 200 yards long which is still there. Unfortunately due to a roof fall it has been fenced at the ends for safety and it is no longer possible to walk through it." [K. Ledger]
