Mine (Lead).
Site of now-buried vertical shaft that was sunk on the Raik Vein to the '47 Fathom Level' (via the Gripps & Poutshiel levels) where the Meadowhead Vein was intersected. Ground now occupied by grassland, formerly the site of a lead ore washing mill.

Notes: Labelled as (active) 'Lead Mine' on 1863 6" OS map (surveyed 1859). Name of Reids Shaft shown on abandonment plan (AP12706.57).
