• Not indicated as an individual cave on OS. But 1st Ed OS and later have 'The Coves' - correctly suggesting a number a caves.
• Photo 1 shows the rectangular entrance about 1/3 from the left (E). The rift is obscured from this angle. Compare photo 2. Taken 13/9/25.
• Photo 2 a bit closer, and enough NE to be just past the line of the rift. It has two cavelets above. 13/9/25
• Photo 3 closer still. The lower tunnel on the right (SW) of the rectangular entrance can be seen. 29/8/25
• Photo 4 that tunnel from close to. There is rock ramp going up to the right, partly in sunlight. 13/9/25
• Photo 5 similar photo to 4, taken at tide level 1.1 m ACD on 25/5/26. At this lower tide the entrance is much narrower at sea level.
• Photo 6 the short tunnel leading to the west rift - from which light may be seen just to the left of the kayak's bow. Taken 13/9/25 facing about SW.
• Photo 7 similar to photo 6, but taken from a bit further away. This entrance is much wider at this lower tide level of 1.1 m ACD. It was fairly easy to paddle through and out along the W rift on 25/5/26. Note the overhang - there is overhang further out and higher up. Also how the guillemots and razorbills are using the ledges and cavelets where the bedding planes have eroded more than the bulk.
