Shown over wasted Ontake Coal workings on mine plan S2763, situated near projected outcrop of Upper Blackband Ironstone. Shaft now buried below field.

Notes: labelled as 'No.3 Pit' on mine plan S4395. Shaft marked on MRA map. Locality acknowledged on BGS GeoIndex, but probably for old quarry (infilled).
