Located at the end of a promontary known as the Camel's Back between Bullers of Buchan and Robie's Haven, the Bow of Pitwartlachie is a natural arch over a subtidal channel aligned approx 041 degrees. This channel continues on the north side in a gentle eastward curve described as the Gutter. This may have been the line of a longer sea cave/tunnel which has collapsed.

The NE entrance is at NK 11062 37992.
