Mine (Coal) / Air Shaft (18th Century).
Treated shaft with remnant surface expression, buried in field. Formed part of Fordel(l) Colliery & accessed an adit leading S to an area of pillar-and-stall workings in the 'Coal Thief Seam' that was also worked from the neighbouring Muir(s) Pit to the SE at [NT 1542 8782].
