Mine (Coal).
Treated shaft below pond. Sunk pre-1790 & abandoned prior to 1853. This was situated on the E side of the day level, connected by a short adit.
Alternative Names: Drumcooper Office Shaft
Notes: Labelled as 'Old Coal Pit' on 1st Ed. OS map & 'Office Pit' on mine plans.
Drumcooper was a farm, on the N edge of which was the pit shaft. Site now demolished and replaced by a pond.
