West Nizz Cave

Reported location of cave on W side of The Nizz. Reported to be a tunnel / arch connecting to NS26 on the E side of The Nizz. Length based on GIS ~79 m. [Report 1145]

Notes: Based on these NGRs from Pastmap, the length would be 70 m if there is a continuous tunnel. It is probably shorter than that since it is impossible to tell from aerial photos where the roof closure over the east entrance is.

20 m length is a placeholder pending definite information - eg report of light from the far end or a passage.

OS has a cave dot, but no tunnel indicated - unlike the 2 tunnels from Kirn of Skroo.
Map 17 has this entrance marked GSG28. p186 of FI Caves (GSG version) an annexe of Report 1145.

Photo 2 shows the west side of Skroo and The Nizz. This entrance is at the east end of the large geo in the middle. Airborne photo by Mike Pennington taken 24/5/22. It looks as if there may be a cave in the east end of the north cliff of The Nizz.
Pastmap Aerial of The Nizz. This entrance marked GSG28. From this it would not be surprising if there were 0, 1 or 2 through tunnels.
