Duttfield Cave 3

Sea cave at the base of steep cliffs north-east of Duttfield bay. Faces SW by W.

'Entered by snorkeller 19/8/21. Large rift entrance estimated ~5 m wide at waterline with ceiling ~13 m ACD. Lower and narrower within, passage width ~1 m and ceiling ~3 m ACD at back of cave. Cave floor with large boulders at entrance and at ~ 0 m BCD. Shallow throughout and with a shingle beach (>1.3 m ACD) in the back ~3 m of the passage. Passage length measured at ~32 m. Dark at back of cave. Noted coralline crusts near entrance and barnacles on walls.' [Report 1145]
