Well or more likely a rising where water issues from the foot of the sea cliff. Now apparently piped. No known cave at this location.
A copious spring of fresh water issuing from the base of the cliff on the sea shore. [Scotland's Places]
Jinny's Well: the well now piped at the foot of Jinny's Wall brae. During the nineteenth century large crowds gathered there on the first Sunday in May. Drinking from the well on that day gave one good health for the coming year. (Ed: folk still swear by it as a good drink today). [K'nocker. Portknockie Shoreline]
Alternative Names: Jennie's Well, Jenny's Well, Jinny's Well.
