Sea Cave.
A narrow flooded inlet located 50m NW of Three-Storey House leads to an initially tight section that is just wide enough for passage in a sea kayak, made awkward by number of elongate projections from the wall. There is little issue with height throughout the initial section (approx. 10m in height), although the upper part of the entrance is too narrow for even a swimmer, hence entry to the otherwise tall cave is only accessible at low tide. As such, it is possible to become trapped inside for lengthy periods of time. The cave widens and has more comfortable dimensions after approx. 30m where exposed scalloped bedrock 'pavements' rocks flank the waterway. This eventually widens into a partially decorated central 'chamber' that is approx. 10m wide, beyond which the cave narrows again and the ceiling lowers to a height of approx. 3m. These dimensions continue for roughly 10m until a shingle beach section is encountered at the rear of the cave.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Notes: May be the Arbroath Cave #13 of Oldham 2007 (no description given other than "boat required"), although either of two larger entrances between here and Dickmont's Den are more likely candidates.
Needs a length survey - probably approx. 100m; VR and alt are guesstimates.
Access: By sea, best on a falling tide below 1.3 m ACD.
