Mine (fireclay & coal), 19th Century.
Northrigg No 7 pit supplied fireclay for pipes and some coal. Treated shaft now buried on derelict land beside tarmacked track (see Streetview). Shown on 1856 OS map, but labelled as disused on 1897 ed. Connected to the Northrigg Mine (No.2 Pit), pithead of which was located c. 450m to NNW.
