Cave supposedly located between Horse Cave (near Sannikie Hythie) and Green Castle. (Crammond, 1888)
A large slot is visible in the cliff to the south-east of the promontary fort extending 25 m into the cliff with a 30 m deep connecting pothole or gloup in the cliff above. (Canmore, aerial photo).
Alternative Names: Dove Cave
Notes: Cave mentioned in a lecture given to the Banffshire Field Club by Wm Crammond, 26 October 1888.
Not found at NJ 48910 68820 (previously recorded position) by Nigel Feilden during visits 18 & 30 October 2019.
K'nocker (2001) refers to the site as Cave of the Green Castle, although a local information board uses the name Dove Cave, as the cave is a roost for rock pigeons.
