Mine (ironstone & coal), 19th Century.
Small ironstone workings limited in extent due to owner land boundaries, with production of some shallower parrot coals. Shown on ironstone works abandonment plan (see refs), and the corresponding site on 1928 geol' survey map states Lochgelly Blackband Ironstone at 15 fms [27m].
Site now landscaped and occupied by woodland as part of Cowdenbeath Golf Course.

15 fm depth may potentially relate to the No.5 pit to E (which is depth of ironstone passage marked in abandonment plan).
