Mine shaft, probably late 17th c. Mine Plan [SP1768] suggests that this shaft was sunk to Tait's Adit [site #4378] that served the adjacent Cove & Belton Grain lead workings.

Notes: Burn Shaft is shown on Wells' 1756 map (point R) at this locality. Probably one of the two shallow shafts to the Tait's Adit shown in the valley on Mine Plan SP1768, the most northerly of which is probably the Limpin Shaft (also shown on 1756 map).
