Shaft, site of.
Sunk on/beside Lee's Vein near its intersection with the Belton Grain Veins (both lead ore-rich). Possibly associated with a branch of the Belton Grain Trial Level [see site #10202], the S end of which is in close proximity to this shaft. Crater visible on satellite imagery at SE edge of spoil tip.
"This [Lee's] vein trends almost due north and south, but although several trials have been made on it no lead ore has been discovered, though a good deal of hematite was met with." [Wilson, 1921]
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Labelled as shaft on OS maps.
