Sea cave with aven.
A low rift at the southern extremity of the Poll a' Chait Fhiadhaich geo. A low crawl leads to a muddy climb on the LHS side that leads up to an aven within bedrock and eventually drift deposits, probably underneath a large doline feature visible on surface above.
When visited in Dec' 2024, a tight eyehole midway up the slope provided a view to a lower-lying cobble-floored spacious continuation of the main rift passage that reportedly ends in a choke. The latter is probably linked to the entrance passage via a section currently blocked by washed-in cobbles.
The cave is accessed via a trip through Poll a' Chait Fhiadhaich No.1. When the latter is flooded at mod-high tide, dry access to cave No.2 may be possible by using a ladder across the S entrance of cave No.1 due to the innermost part of the cliff-bound geo being dry except at highest tide.
Alternative Names: Leirinmore Sea Cave No.2, Wildcat Cave No.2
Notes: The aven section is karst-like, but is possibly just a collapse of a sea cave ceiling.
Poll a' Chait Fhiadhaich means 'dell of the wildcat' in Gaelic.
Hydrographic Feeds: Poll a' Chait Fhiadhaich
