Ironstone Mine (early 19th Century).
Small-scale blackband workings in conjunction with No.1 Pit, NE-SW axis extending from Pitcon Burn to almost Boag farm. Survey dates on abandonment plan (see refs) show years of 1846-50.
Alternative Names: Kilbirnie No.11?
Notes: Given 8 fig. coordinates based on pit shaft location shown on Geological Survey 6" map, labelled as No 14 as it also is in the abandonment plan (AP) for No.1. However, a regional AP (BGS, AP12409.2) shows No 11 at this locality.
