Mine (mid/late 19th Century).
NE-SW-trending workings contiguous with those of No.16 Pit to the NW; formerly accessed by shaft at E side of workings in Dalry Blackband Ironstone at a depth of 40 fathoms [73m]. Abandoned by Merry & Cunninghame is 1877, see abandonment plan in refs for layout. Shaft site and that of adjacent air shaft now buried below field.
