Mine (Ironstone & Coal), mid 19th c.
Shaft site now occupied in woodland N of canal. Level drawing roads extended to S beneath canal to workings on lands on S side of the Calder Water (contiguous with those reached from Faskine No.6 Pit & showing survey dates from 1861-62). See abandonment plan in refs.
