Mine (Ironstone), early or mid 19th Century.
"Ironstone Pit (Disused)" labelled beside bing on 1st Ed. OS map. Air shafts at [NS 8591 5136] & [8598 5161], all appear buried under field.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Location (8 fig. NGR) approx., based on assumption that pit would be at end of track & beside bing. MRA marker appears to be related to the air shaft also marked on 1st Ed. OS map.
This (un-named?) pit is unlikely to be No.8 Pit as this post-dates survey/pub. dates of 1st Ed. OS map (that states un-named pit is disused).
