Mine (Ironstone), 19th Century.
Relatively small-scale workings along two clayband ironstone bands (the 3' & 5' seams), the pit entrance being beside the mine's SW margin. Workings along the 5' joined with those from the Lochknowe Pit to the N. Abandonment plan (see refs) shows that mine pre-dates 1889. Operated by Shotts Iron Co.
Alternative Names: None recorded.
Notes: Given 8 fig NGR is approx, based on surface features illustrated on abandonment plan which also appear on old OS maps. This probably corresponds with the west side of a radiating bing structure.
