Alternative Names: Knightswood No.5
Notes: Labelled as 'Old Pit' on 1864 OS map. The 1874 Geological Survey states 'Old Pit, 20 fms to BB' [36.5m to blackband ironstone], although this survey frequently makes no mention of deeper seams in neighbouring wells (i.e. 37m is minimum depth).
Located at approx SW area of workings from Jordanhill No.6 Pit, but No.5 not shown on abandonment plan (possibly a separate / shallower seam).
