Mine (Lead), blocked.

Crosscut adit driven from the Margaret's Vein on the W side of Mennock Hass, reaching the Old Glencrieff Vein under Black Hill. Mine Plan (SP1771) shows that a ca. 110m-long N-S-trending tunnel along the Old Glencrieff Vein was accessed by way of a ca. 340m-long perpendicular crosscut. The adit portal is now buried below an area of scree along the side of an old track, ca. 100m SW of the Lead Mining Museum's overflow car park.

Alternative Names: None recorded.

Notes: Named "Mennock Hass Crosscut" on Mine Plan SP1805, & labelled as 'Old Level' on OS map of 1899.
