The simple description of the Needle's E'e is a small natural arch. After that it gets complicated. The Needle's E'e is at high level above a deep water inlet to the south-east and in good weather is used as a launching point for cliff jumpers who then swim round to where they can climb back up to the top. The open area to the north-west of the Needle's E'e is called the Devil's Dining Room. A rift from an inlet to the SW has been eroded by the sea to form a tidal passage under the Devil's Dining Room to the Mermaid's Kirk to the north-east.

Directly below the Needle's E'e, the cliff above the deep water inlet has two wide but low entrances into what is now called Bunkbed Cave.

Rumours of a connecting passage into the tunnel to Mermaid's Kirk are unfounded. The base of the cliff below Needle's Eye and the walls of the Mermaid's Kirk passage have been inspected and there is no connecting passage.

Alternative Names: Devil's Dining Room, Arbroath Cave [7], Needle's Eye

Notes: Access: From Victoria Park walk about 500m northward along the tarmac path until you see the natural arch on the right, and a bit lower.
