Moby's Cave (E entrance)

Arbroath, E of Springfield Park, Angus, (Forfarshire).

A side tunnel leading W to the main tunnel of Moby's Cave. It is about 45 m long. The 'about' is to do with exactly where the tunnel closes overhead.

Notes: Access: by sea at a low tide at or below 1.2 m.

The joining of this tunnel to Moby's Cave (aka Yellow Rock Cave) was confirmed by Tom Ashton to Iain Greig 26 Feb 21.

1st Ed OS 25in marks this entrance as 'cave' and also shows an elongated gloup W of this entrance. There is a current OS dot 17m away at NO 66401 41265.
Photo 1 shows this entrance at 12:30 BST 14 Aug 21 just 10 mins before a 1.2m low tide.
Photo 2 was taken immediately after photo 1 and shows the tear-drop profile. On this day it looked navigable for 20-30 m in, but the swell was a little too vigorous.
